Installation is simple and will only take a couple minutes
Start by positioning the SymplyWORKSPACE and SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion next to each other allowing space around each unit for airflow.
It's time to plug everything in
Looking at the rear of each system,
- Use CABLINK2(2m high-speed cable)
- connects SymplyWORKSPACE Port A to Port Q on the SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion
- Use CABLINK(0.5m high-speed cable)
- connects SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion Port R to Port A also on the SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion
- Use CABLINK2(2m high-speed cable)
- connects SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion Port S to Port B on the SymplyWORKSPACE
- Connect power cord to both SymplyWORKSPACE and SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion
- First power up the SymplyWORKSPACE Expansion by pushing the front button
- Wait 10 seconds and then power up the SymplyWORKSPACE by pushing the button on the front

Adding an expansion to your SymplyWORKSPACE requires a short Professional Services engagement to expand the StorNext volume to include the new storage. Once we have confirmation that you have a full backup of the current volume, the volume expansion typically this takes less than an hour to complete.
