ExFAT formatted disks are currently failing to function correctly when connected to a Mac running macOS Sonoma. The issue exists with macOS Sonoma (currently at version 14.3 however issue exists in earlier versions of Sonoma too).


Symptoms

  • Files and folders may not appear on the disk
  • Creating new files/folders to the disk fail with an error such as:
  • "The action cannot be completed. Errorcode -50"
  • Copying data to or from the disk fails with the same or similar errors as above


Good News!

This is not a problem with your disk, it is only a bug within the OS. Connect the SPARK to a Mac running an earlier version of macOS and the problem will not be present.
